Visual Examination (VT)

Visual Examination (VT)

‘A common and effective examination method to detect flaws and irregularities during construction and welding’

Visual testing is one of the first NDT techniques ever applied. It’s a very basic and common inspection method. Various inspection tools are used during the examination to measure the welding seam profile and to compare the welding appearance to the applied acceptance criteria. Boroscopes, mirrors, telescopes and magnifying glasses can be used to aid the inspector.

Our experienced inspectors are able to provide an initial quality check of welded components in accordance with international standards, prior to the application of more time-consuming inspection procedures.
